Κοινότητες και startup του Bitcoin οικοσυστήματος κατά του fork του Νοεμβρίου
Μεγαλώνει ο αριθμός των Bitcoin κοινοτήτων και startup που με ανακοινώσεις τους δηλώνουν την αντίθεση τους στο ενδεχόμενο ενός fork τον Νοέμβριο και χωρίς την καθολική συναίνεση όλων. Σε όλες αυτές τις ανακοινώσεις όλοι δηλώνουν ότι θα παραμείνουν στην τωρινή αλυσίδα του Bitcoin ενώ θα θεωρήσουν την νέα αλυσίδα που θα δημιουργηθεί μετά το fork ως ένα ένα νέο altcoin.
Συγκεκριμένα το ανταλλακτήριο με έδρα το Hong Kong OKEx σε ένα νέο του tweet λίγες μέρες μετά την ανακοίνωση του ότι δεν θα υποστηρίξει το fork του Νοεμβρίου δηλώνει ότι Bitcoin θα θεωρεί πάντα την τωρινή αλυσίδα του συστήματος.
Παρόμοια ανακοίνωση έβγαλε και άλλο ένα ανταλλακτήριο με έδρα το Hong Kong το ANXPRO τονίζοντας ότι το segwit2x fork είναι αρκετά αμφιλεγόμενο
Η ίδια η Bitcoin κοινότητα του Hong Kong με ανακοίνωση της δηλώνει ότι είναι ενάντια στο fork του Νοεμβρίου καθώς ελάχιστα από τα μέλη της δηλώνουν ότι υποστηρίζουν μια τέτοια κίνηση
Hong Kong has a diverse and lively Bitcoin community. While enthusiasts, developers, entrepreneurs and traders might have diverging views and opinions on how to scale Bitcoin and eventual hard forks, we are united by our commitment to Bitcoin.
In our personal conversations at meetups and events as well as through a formal poll conducted in mid-October, we found that the vast majority of the Hong Kong Bitcoin community does not support the Segwit2X hard fork. While many have voiced clear and stark opposition to Segwit2X, the lack of enthusiastic support for this fork among the community is striking.

We, the Israeli Bitcoin Association, believe that Bitcoin is voluntary money; people use it because they choose to, not because they are coerced. As such, people can choose to fork Bitcoin’s open source code and use an alternative currency with similar underlying principles. We embrace plurality in cryptocurrencies, and this holds true despite our preference that the Bitcoin community and industry remain united in a single strong network. We therefore recognize the right of signatories of the New York Agreement, and their supporters, to establish a currency based on the protocol known as SegWit2x, and have it coexist peacefully with the currency based on the current Bitcoin protocol. However, we also believe that a protocol change in the currency holding the name “Bitcoin”, especially one requiring a hard fork, requires overwhelming consensus. The SegWit2x hard fork does not in any way enjoy such consensus, and while this remains the case we cannot refer to the resulting currency as “Bitcoin”.
Η γαλλική Bitcoin κοινότητα ανακοίνωσε ότι είναι ενάντια σε κάθε απόπειρα fork ενώ καλεί και όσους συμμετέχουν σε αυτή την απόπειρα να εγκαταλείψουν αυτή την προσπάθεια.
Το ανταλλακτήριο της Αυστρίας Bitpanda ανακοίνωσε ότι δεν θα υποστηρίξει κανένα fork του Bitcoin ενώ θα προσθέσει τα νέα token προς διαπραγμάτευση μόνο εφόσον αποδείξουν ότι έχουν κάποια τεχνολογική αξία.
Το Bitcoin startup Bitrefill ανακοινώνει και αυτό την αντίθεση του στο fork του Νοεμβρίου ενώ επισημαίνει ότι θα ήταν καλύτερο για το Bitcoin οικοσύστημα αν όλοι είχαν επικεντρωθεί στο να δημιουργήσουν λύσεις όπως τα παράλληλα συστήματα πληρωμών αντί να σπαταλάνε πόρους για την υποστήριξη όλων αυτών των αλλεπάλληλων fork.
As one of the leading bitcoin merchants, dealing primarily with low-value transactions and emerging economies we will continue to do what we can to improve the service for our users. Even a hypothetical non-contentious 2x hard fork wouldn’t solve the issues we do have. We will continue working on things like off-chain integrations, Layer-2 solutions, and improved support for altcoins.
The bitcoin ecosystem has in the last months spent a great effort on supporting multiple coins; building coin splitting, replay protection, coin withdrawals, and writing company statements like this one. We would have preferred this effort be spent on rolling out real scaling improvements like segwit and into researching payment channels and the plethora of privacy-enhancing scaling improvements we’ve been reading about.
