Η CoinGate ενεργοποίησε τις Bitcoin Lightning πληρωμές σε 100 συνεργαζόμενα καταστήματα

Η CoinGate ανακοίνωσε την ενεργοποίηση των Bitcoin πληρωμών μέσω του Lightning δικτύου για πάνω από 100 συνεργαζόμενα εμπορικά καταστήματα, λίγες μέρες μετά την σχετική της ανακοίνωση ότι σταδιακά θα διαθέσει σε όλους τους συνεργαζόμενους εμπόρους αυτή την δυνατότητα.

Just a week ago we published our first post on Lightning Network while we were still testing it on our demo shop (where you can still try testnet LN payments). Now, we couldn’t be more excited about bringing real LN payments to so many merchants at once!

O CTO της CoinGate Rytis Bieliauska δήλωσε στο Coindesk ότι αν και το lightning network είναι ακόμα σε Beta κατάσταση η χρήση του όμως από πλατφόρμες σαν την δικιά τους θα βοηθήσει στην σταδιακή βελτίωση του.

“It’s a very new technology. Inevitably there will be some bugs, either in our implementation or in the Lightning Network. It will help, not just us, but the whole community because the bugs we find might help the whole protocol.”

To Lightning network αυτή την στιγμή έχει ξεπεράσει τα 55 Bitcoin σε capacity με 2,721 nodes και 8,952 ανοιχτά κανάλια πληρωμών.

Για όποιον θέλει να δοκιμάσει τις πληρωμές μέσω του lightning τα ποιο δημοφιλή mobile wallet που το υποστηρίζουν είναι το eclair και το Bitcoin Lightning Wallet που είναι διαθέσιμα για android και για Ios ενώ ένα site που μπορεί να δοκιμάσει κάποιος της πρώτες του μικροπληρωμές μέσω του lighting είναι το satoshis.place όπου κάθε pixel κοστίζει 1 satoshi την μικρότερη δηλαδή νομισματική μονάδα του Bitcoin.
